What is Cialis?
If you’re experiencing erectile dysfunction symptoms at the moment, it’s important to remember that the condition is a common one, affecting millions of men in the UK and around the world.
Some 25 per cent of cases occur in men under the age of 40, with the condition characterised by a decrease in sexual desire and the inability to get and/or sustain an erection.
Although the condition can be distressing and frustrating, there are treatment options available, such as Cialis, which works to relax the muscles in the blood vessels around the penis to increase blood flow and produce an erection.
It is available in 2.5mg, 5mg, 10mg and 20mg doses and can be prescribed and stringd online following a confidential online medical questionnaire with a certified prescriber.
The 2.5mg and 5mg daily doses are usually prescribed to men who expect to be sexually active at least twice a week.
Although the medication is effective, it’s important to remember that Cialis it isn’t a cure for the condition and it can’t increase sexual desire.
Furthermore, although the condition may not be medically concerning, it can have a significant impact on mental and emotional health and wellbeing. It can affect your self-esteem and confidence, as well as causing anxiety, depression and relationship conflict.
It may be beneficial to go for counselling and/or therapy while taking the medication to help address the underlying cause of your erectile dysfunction.
How does Cialis work?
The active ingredient in Cialis is tadalafil, a PDE-5 inhibitor that works to temporarily increase blood flow to the penis. This kind of treatment works in around 70 per cent of men, although note that results will likely vary from person to person.
This medication prevents a chemical called phosphodiesterase type 5 from working, which then helps to relax the blood vessels and improve blood flow so you are able to get and sustain an erection long enough to enjoy sexual interactions.
How to take Cialis
Take one tablet at least 30 minutes before you want to have sex. Note that the effects will last for up to 36 hours. As such, you should not take more than one tablet within a 36-hour period.
A standard dose for Cialis is 10mg, but you may be prescribed more or less depending on your age, weight and height, as well as the severity of your condition and the underlying root cause.
The effectiveness of the treatment may be affected by drinking alcohol so it may be advisable to avoid excessive consumption. Eating food will not affect the results, however.
Note that Cialis should not be taken alongside other medication being used to treat erectile dysfunction.
Are there any side-effects to Cialis?
As with any medication, there is a risk of side-effects when taking Cialis, including:
– Muscle aches
– Headaches
– Indigestion
– Lightheadedness
– Nasal congestion
– Flushing
– Palpitations
